Our Story

How Siam Prosper Came to Be

Siam Prosper grew out of a long-running book discussion group in Chonburi in the early 2010s. A small circle of adults in their forties found themselves returning, month after month, to a particular shelf of titles — patient, measured books on money, saving, and household economy. The conversations were, by most accounts, more useful than anything they had encountered in bank-sponsored seminars or product-led workshops.

In 2018, those informal sessions were formalised into a structured programme. The founding principle was straightforward: financial education for people who have lived long enough to distrust shortcuts. The aim was — and remains — to create a setting where reading is the method, discussion is the vehicle, and understanding is the destination.

Today, Siam Prosper offers three distinct programmes, each built on the same foundation: carefully chosen texts, Thai-context grounding, and a facilitator who asks questions rather than offers answers. We serve adults who want to approach their financial lives with more clarity — not certainty, but clarity.

Our Mission

What We Are Here to Do

Our mission is to offer financial education that adults 40+ will find genuinely useful — not because it tells them what to do, but because it gives them better tools for their own thinking.

Long-Horizon Thinking

We emphasise the long view — not market timing or quarterly returns, but the kind of financial thinking that holds up over a decade or more.

Balanced, Product-Neutral

We present information without a product agenda. No fund is recommended, no policy is sold. The facilitator's role is to inform, not to direct.

Community of Readers

Programmes are small-group by design. The exchange between participants is often as valuable as the reading itself.

The People Behind the Programmes

Our Facilitators

Small sessions require experienced, thoughtful people. Our facilitators bring both subject knowledge and a genuine interest in adult learning.

PP

Pattaraporn Prayoon

Lead Facilitator & Founder

Pattaraporn has spent two decades reading and discussing personal finance literature. She leads the six-month reading programme and the investor series, drawing on a background in economics and adult education.

NS

Nopporn Sakunrat

Insurance Education Specialist

Nopporn brings many years of experience interpreting Thai-market insurance structures for general audiences. He facilitates the weekend insurance workshop with patience and clarity, without product bias.

CL

Chanya Lertchai

Programme Coordinator

Chanya manages scheduling, reading materials, and participant correspondence. She ensures that each session runs smoothly and that every participant has what they need before arriving.

How We Work

Our Standards of Practice

These are not aspirations — they are the commitments we make to every participant, in every session.

No Product Sales

Facilitators do not hold sales licences. No financial product is recommended, promoted, or sold in any session. This is non-negotiable.

Participant Privacy

Personal financial information shared during discussion remains confidential to the group. No details are recorded or shared outside the session room.

Curated, Current Reading Lists

Reading materials are reviewed and updated regularly. We remove texts that have aged poorly and add those that have proven durable in practice.

Small Group Sizes

Sessions are capped at twelve participants. Smaller groups make for better conversation, more questions, and a more useful session for everyone present.

Paced to the Room

Facilitators adjust the pace of each session to the group. If a chapter prompts longer discussion than expected, the schedule bends — the learning does not.

Transparent Fees

Programme fees are stated upfront. There are no add-ons, no hidden charges, and no upselling during or after the programme.

About Our Approach

Financial Education Grounded in Reading

In Thailand, as elsewhere, financial education tends to arrive in one of two forms: product presentations dressed as seminars, or dense technical materials aimed at professionals. Neither serves adults who have already built careers, raised families, and developed their own sense of what matters.

Siam Prosper was built for a different audience — adults in their forties and beyond who want to engage seriously with money, without being rushed, sold to, or underestimated. Our reading-centred method takes its cue from what actually works in adult learning: reading before discussing, discussing before deciding, and deciding in your own time.

The Thai financial context is specific. Insurance products are structured differently from those elsewhere. Tax treatment of savings instruments varies. The family dynamics that shape household financial decisions here are often distinct from what Western personal-finance literature assumes. Our facilitators work to bridge these gaps, translating the insights of long-standing texts into locally relevant thinking.

Long-horizon financial thinking — saving patiently, insuring appropriately, investing without chasing short-term movements — is a skill that deepens with practice. Our programmes are designed to be useful not just in the year you take them, but in the years that follow. Many participants return for a second cycle; they tell us the same books read differently after another year of living.

Siam Prosper does not offer financial advice. We offer financial understanding — which, in our view, is the more lasting thing.
